Responsibilities

• Oversee sales and operation of the Meat & Seafood Department.
• Plan, order, and prepare cutting lists; process meat to meet department goals and maximize sales and gross profit.
• Ensure correct ordering, receiving, unloading, storage, and rotation of merchandise and displays.
• Coach, give feedback, and hold one‑on‑one development discussions with team members; complete bi‑annual performance reviews and recommend merit increases.
• Attend and participate in in‑store meetings regularly.
• Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
• Exercise independent judgment to address team‑member concerns and document corrective actions, including coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination as needed.
• Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
• Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to the team.
• Lead a collaborative team to deliver the finest product quality, highest service level, and best customer experience.
• Serve as a Key Carrier for the store and/or act as Manager on Duty (MOD) when required.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age with basic math, weights, and measures knowledge.
• Minimum of 2 years meat‑cutting experience in grocery or restaurant settings, including leadership experience.
• Ability to stand continuously for up to 4 hours and work an 8‑hour shift, walking up to 2 miles per shift.
• Capability to work inside a temperature‑controlled area.
• Good vision for operating sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer.
• Physical ability to lift/carry products 25–90 lb (4″–60″) up to 10 ft for 20 hours total.
• Operate a pallet jack to move pallets up to 500 lb (force up to 85 lb) up to 100 ft for up to 5 hours.
• Move racks of products weighing up to 70 lb (force up to 25 lb) up to 50 ft for up to 10 hours.
• Move tables weighing up to 70 lb (force > 35 lb) up to 2 ft for up to 1 hour.
• Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with a positive attitude toward team members and customers.
