Meat Manager

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and staffing of the Meat Department to ensure efficiency and sales performance
  • Schedule and assign duties to meat cutters and meat clerks
  • Train and deliver high-quality customer service and build customer loyalty through product knowledge and service
  • Monitor inventory levels, conduct monthly inventories, and maintain accurate records
  • Order meat products, verify deliveries for quality and accuracy, and ensure proper stock levels
  • Maintain merchandising standards, pricing accuracy, and department presentation
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company policies and procedures
  • Prepare, cut, trim, and merchandise meat products using appropriate equipment safely
  • Analyze reports to identify sales opportunities and improve department performance

  • Ability to operate meat processing equipment (saws, grinders, knives, tenderizers) safely

  • Ability to analyze reports and adjust operations accordingly
  • Ability to work varied schedules including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance

Other Requirements

  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 35 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a temperature-controlled environment with occasional outdoor exposure
  • Compliance with grooming, uniform, and workplace conduct standards
  • Adherence to food safety and operational policies
