Part-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Meat Manager.
About the role
Responsible for all aspects of the meat operation, including preparing, storing, cutting, cleaning, and serving meat.
Responsibilities
- Monitor food distribution and ensure guidelines are followed.
- Clean and sterilize dishes, kitchen utensils, equipment, and facilities.
- Maintain coolers, cases, and displays by keeping them stocked.
- Observe scheduled shift hours as assigned by meat and/or store manager.
- Provide all customers with friendly, courteous, and prompt service.
- Perform specific tasks as assigned by meat and/or store manager.
- Maintain good communication with the meat manager.
- Share responsibility for controlling shrink.
- Properly record all hours worked; verify and sign the time ticket report.
- Monitor food preparation and serving techniques to ensure proper procedures are followed.
- Assist in recording and maintaining accurate bookkeeping systems for weekly and monthly meat purchases.
- Assist in maintaining proper records to control shrink through inventory and ordering.
- Assist in inventorying all products on hand before preparing a meat order.
- Assist meat manager in taking a four-week period meat inventory.
- Ensure product is rotated when received and stocked.
- Ensure all meat coolers and cases run at the proper temperature.
- Follow proper safety procedures.
- Properly clean and maintain the meat department, coolers, cases, and equipment.
Qualifications
- Less than high school education.
- No prior experience necessary.
