Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations in the absence of the Meat Department Manager.
  • Create a positive work environment by training, mentoring, and developing associates.
  • Collaborate with the Meat Department Manager to write and conduct performance reviews, and conduct corrective action as necessary.
  • Ensure the meat department runs smoothly by maintaining proper stock levels, accurate pricing, and merchandising.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workspace in compliance with company standards.
  • Monitor sales and inventory to maximize department profitability.
  • Work closely with the Store Director, Meat Director, Training & Execution Specialists, and other department managers to exceed expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in retail, food service, fast food, or restaurant settings.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • WI Certified Food Manager License (reimbursable by Festival Foods).
  • Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team.
  • Strong communication skills and customer-focused mindset.
  • Proficiency with technology and computer systems.
  • A solid understanding of warehouse operations in a retail or grocery setting.
  • A commitment to maintaining high food safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel.
  • Fine finger and broad manual dexterity, and eye-hand-foot coordination.
  • Full range of upper body motion for occasional lifting up to 60 pounds.
  • Repetitive tasks for prolonged periods.
  • Functional sensory abilities for visual monitoring and operating equipment.

Pay

Hourly associates are paid weekly, with additional premiums on Sundays and select holidays. Full-time hourly associates receive time and a half on Sundays and select holidays.

Schedule

The Meat Assistant Department Manager is a full-time position with a flexible schedule including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
