Responsibilities
- Support daily operations in the absence of the Meat Department Manager.
- Create a positive work environment by training, mentoring, and developing associates.
- Collaborate with the Meat Department Manager to write and conduct performance reviews, and conduct corrective action as necessary.
- Ensure the meat department runs smoothly by maintaining proper stock levels, accurate pricing, and merchandising.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workspace in compliance with company standards.
- Monitor sales and inventory to maximize department profitability.
- Work closely with the Store Director, Meat Director, Training & Execution Specialists, and other department managers to exceed expectations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3+ years of leadership experience in retail, food service, fast food, or restaurant settings.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- WI Certified Food Manager License (reimbursable by Festival Foods).
- Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team.
- Strong communication skills and customer-focused mindset.
- Proficiency with technology and computer systems.
- A solid understanding of warehouse operations in a retail or grocery setting.
- A commitment to maintaining high food safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel.
- Fine finger and broad manual dexterity, and eye-hand-foot coordination.
- Full range of upper body motion for occasional lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Repetitive tasks for prolonged periods.
- Functional sensory abilities for visual monitoring and operating equipment.

Pay
Hourly associates are paid weekly, with additional premiums on Sundays and select holidays. Full-time hourly associates receive time and a half on Sundays and select holidays.
Schedule
The Meat Assistant Department Manager is a full-time position with a flexible schedule including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
