Responsibilities
- Ensure excellent customer service
- Train and guide Meat Department team members
- Maintain a fresh and well-presented Meat Department
- Manage inventory
- Develop and lead the Meat Department team
- Budget for hours and dollars
- Merchandise the Meat Department
- Perform meat cutting
- Operate meat department equipment safely
- Monitor cleanliness and temperatures
- Communicate with the Store Manager
- Conduct department meetings
- Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Stability in work and education history
- 4+ years of experience in Meat Department
- Effective communication skills
- Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Understanding of operations in a food service business/industry
- Basic reading and writing ability
- Self-starter attitude
Physical Demands
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Moving up to 50 lbs. up to 15 yards
- Reaching forward and/or down with both hands up to 36 inches
- Handling various products and materials
- Bending and twisting at the waist
- Climbing on ladders, racks, cases, shelving, and stairs up to three feet in height
- Balancing on wet, slick, dirty, and debris strewn floors
