Measurement Technician – Natural Gas

About the role

This position maintains gas meters, regulators and relief valves, RTU & SCADA equipment and related communication equipment, valves and valve operators, gas filters, and auxiliary equipment such as electrical generators in a manner to meet operational needs in compliance with partnership and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate facilities in compliance with applicable specifications, codes, safety standards and operating procedures.
• Perform periodic accuracy tests including the calibration, inspection and maintenance of all equipment related to quality and quantity determination.
• Install instrumentation and equipment in new and renovated measurement and/or regulation facilities.
• Inspect and maintain all pressure and volumetric control equipment.
• Collect gas samples in compliance with partnership safety and industry guidelines.
• Participate in partnership safety program and initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 0 - 2 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience for Level C.
• Minimum 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience for Level B.
• Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience for Level A.

Qualifications

• Detailed knowledge of applicable EPA, DOT, RRC, OSHA, NEC, AGA, API and GPA requirements and procedures.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills to interface with customer base.

Skills

• PC skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
• Some college or technical trade school is preferred.
