Boardwalk is a limited partnership operating in the midstream portion of the natural gas and natural gas liquids industry, providing transportation and storage services for our customers. Our 14,000 miles of pipeline and storage assets provide diverse market connectivity to producers and end-users who need reliable sources of natural gas for power generation, home heating, or petrochemical feedstocks.

About the role

Operate and maintain assigned area measurement and control facilities. Schedule and perform all work related to the daily operation and maintenance of assigned measurement and control facilities, including:

  • Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM) Systems and other electrical components
  • Orifice, positive displacement, turbine, rotary, and ultrasonic measurement
  • Control valves, actuators, controllers, positioners, relief valves, regulators, remote set points
  • Chromatographs, sampling systems, gas quality analysis, communication devices, computers, AC and DC circuitry

Responsibilities include testing, installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of such devices. Work will be performed individually and may involve scheduling others to assist or acting as lead. Work from engineering drawings, sketches, and diagrams. Collaborate with Gas Control, Measurement Support Services, and customers to maintain accurate gas flow. Maintain spare parts, equipment, and other maintenance inventory. Perform flow calculations using knowledge of ideal gas laws. Work with customers, property owners, contractors, BWP Engineers, area staff, and Measurement Services for meter station plans. Coordinate with the Measurement Analysis group on daily, weekly, and monthly system balancing issues.

Required to travel to other measurement areas to perform job duties, including extensive daily travel within the assigned area and occasional overnight travel. Must be familiar with computerized compliance tracking systems, GIS, Oracle, O&M Manual, and other computer-based software. Operate, calibrate, and maintain all equipment within DOT and company requirements. May assist other field operational groups with normal Operations & Maintenance activities and emergency situations.

The successful candidate must live within 30 miles of the Hall Summit Compressor Station located in Ringgold, LA, to respond to callouts expediently.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain measurement and control facilities
  • Test, install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair measurement devices and systems
  • Maintain accurate gas flow and system balancing
  • Manage spare parts and maintenance inventory
  • Perform flow calculations using ideal gas laws
  • Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and contractors
  • Travel extensively within the assigned area and occasionally overnight
  • Utilize computerized compliance tracking systems and software
  • Ensure compliance with DOT and company requirements
  • Assist with Operations & Maintenance activities and emergencies

Requirements

  • Natural gas measurement experience
  • Pipeline and compressor station experience preferred
  • Thorough understanding of operating principles for orifice meters, ultrasonic meters, rotary meters, positive meters, turbine meters, relief valves, regulation, and other measurement-related equipment
  • Advanced computer and troubleshooting skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to develop, follow, and prioritize schedules with limited supervision
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines for compliance and scheduled activities
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lb. items a minimum of 50 feet
  • Ability to work in extreme ambient temperatures
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Strong commitment to personal and team safety
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Qualifications

  • Experience working with natural gas pipelines and compressor facilities
  • Familiarity with DOT 192 Regulations
  • College or technical school degree
  • 4+ years of gas measurement or operations and maintenance experience
  • Chromatograph O&M proficiency
  • Control valve and OPP O&M experience
  • Associate’s Degree or Certificate of Completion in Electrical or Electronics Technology from an accredited institution
