Measurement & Controls Technician

Diversified Gas & Oil Corporation (“DGOC”) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Diversified Energy Company PLC, a US-based company listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and London Stock Exchange (LSE) under the ticker symbol “DEC”. DGOC is an established owner and operator of producing conventional and unconventional natural gas & oil wells and midstream pipelines and compression stations concentrated in the Appalachian Basin in the United States. Field operations are located throughout the Appalachian Basin in Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, with expansion into Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

About the role

The Measurement and Controls Technician I will work as part of the Measurement and Control Team and larger IT field support group, interfacing daily with other IT teams (SCADA and Internal Measurement) as well as Field Operations and Engineering support teams. The role provides field-level technical support in the design, installation, programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all oil and gas facility process equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, program, maintain, and troubleshoot oil and gas facility process equipment.
• Interface with IT, SCADA, Internal Measurement, Field Operations, and Engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation, communication protocols (Hart, Modbus), and configuration software.
• Work with gas and liquid measurement technologies (e.g., Orifice, ultrasonic, Coriolis, turbine).
• Maintain and troubleshoot chart recorders and associated equipment.
• Configure and troubleshoot wireless networks, including radios, cellular modems, switches, routers, and other network gear (e.g., Sierra Wireless, Freewave, MDS, Fortinet).
• Connect to and troubleshoot EFM/RTU and/or PLC programs (e.g., Fisher ROC/Floboss, ABB, Bristol Control Wave, Modicon, Allen Bradley).
• Open, load, and deploy local HMI programs (e.g., Beijer, Red Lion, Pro Face, Panel View).
• Troubleshoot and repair multiple types of artificial lift equipment (e.g., Plunger, POC, ESP).
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment ranging from 12 VDC to 600 VAC.
• Work with SCADA platforms (Cygnet preferred).
• Provide emergency and on-call support.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s or technical degree in instrumentation, automation, or process controls preferred (equivalent experience considered).
• Oil and gas industry experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of AGA, API, and GPA standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and other computer applications.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, engineering, and operations staff.
• Ability to work in a team, take direction, prioritize work, and focus on details.
• Ability to multi-task and meet critical timelines.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk up/down stairs, ladders, and negotiate uneven surfaces.
• Frequently position oneself (stoop, kneel, squat) and ascend/descend ladders or uneven terrain.
• Lift and carry up to 70 lbs (heavy category).
• Push and pull with a maximum force of 150 ft./lbs.
• Constantly operate, use, and position hands and fingers.
• Work atop elevated surfaces and traverse various heights.
• Work in outdoor weather conditions and varying environmental conditions, including well sites.
• Ability to detect, perceive, and assess driving operations (with or without corrective lenses).
• Operate a 4X4 vehicle.

Driver Requirements

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
• Must be eligible for company vehicle insurance coverage.
• Position involves operating a company vehicle or receiving a stipend for personal vehicle use; adherence to traffic laws and company policies is required.
