About the role

Assist with Winter Wonder Lights and seasonal holiday light displays. Maintain the estate grounds at Meadow Brook Hall. May assist with duties of operations unit.

Responsibilities

• Mowing
• String trimming
• Picking up trash
• Planting flowers
• Utilizing various types of grounds equipment
• Managing supplies, irrigation and overall maintenance of the estate grounds
• Assist with set up and removal of Winter Wonder Lights and seasonal holiday light displays

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent
• Ability to read directions and written instructions
• Performs physically active work requiring frequent standing, reaching, walking, bending, shoveling, pushing, climbing on a ladder and lifting
• Frequent lifting requiring the execution of up to sixty pounds of force to move and use supplies, landscaping materials, grounds equipment
• Completion of an employment physical to verify the applicant’s ability to perform the duties of the position is required
• Work with fertilizers and other substances that may produce strong and/or offensive odors and works in various conditions with extremes in the heat and cold
• A valid Michigan driver’s license, a driving record acceptable to the University and a criminal background check are required
