Job Summary
Momentum Engineering, Inc. seeks a Data Scientist to collaborate with technical teams, mission stakeholders, and decision makers to transform operational data into meaningful insights that improve mission effectiveness, workflow automation, and strategic decision-making.
Primary Responsibilities
- Analyze structured and unstructured data to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights supporting mission objectives
- Collaborate with technical teams, policy makers, and mission stakeholders to understand operational challenges and define data-driven solutions
- Develop project scopes, use cases, and workflow integration strategies that improve operational efficiency and decision-making
- Create interactive metrics dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics
- Develop automated workflows and reporting solutions that streamline business processes and improve data accessibility
- Support data governance initiatives by ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity across multiple data sources
- Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and continuous improvement in business processes
- Create executive-level presentations, reports, and visualizations that communicate complex analytical findings in a clear and actionable manner
- Utilize Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and other collaboration tools to support data management, reporting, and information sharing
- Partner with multidisciplinary teams to identify new analytical opportunities and implement innovative data solutions
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, data definitions, workflow diagrams, and analytical methodologies
Required Qualifications
- Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (MD Customer)
- Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience, Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or Associate's Degree with 10 years of in-depth relevant experience that is clearly related to the position
- Experience performing data analysis, business intelligence, or data science activities supporting enterprise operations
- Experience developing metrics dashboards and data visualizations
- Advanced proficiency with Python for data analysis and automation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, formulas, pivot tables, and reporting
- Experience utilizing SharePoint for collaboration, document management, or workflow support
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Intelligence Community (IC) programs
- Experience developing business intelligence dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization platforms
- Experience gathering requirements and developing business use cases for workflow automation initiatives
- Knowledge of workflow management, process improvement, and business process analysis methodologies
- Experience integrating data from multiple enterprise systems
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases
- Experience supporting executive leadership through metrics reporting and decision support
- Experience with automation technologies, scripting, or low-code workflow platforms
- Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies and collaboration tools
Pay & Benefits
The Pay Range For This Role Is 135,000 - 180,000 USD per year (Fort Meade MD)
Exempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans.
