MDS Coordinator Nurse (RN)

Essential Functions

• Cook up the IDT in timely completion of the assessments.
• Utilize MDS Scheduler to plan and set MDS Assessment Reference Dates (ARDs).
• Pass on ARD selections for specific MDSs to the IDT.
• Complete Care Area Assessments (CAAs) as needed.
• Participate in care plan meetings as assigned.
• Monitor the medical record documentation to ensure it supports MDS coding.
• Engage in Medicare utilization management as assigned.

Education, Licensure, and Experience

• Current LPN or RN Licensure in the State of Employment.
• Computer aptitude with the EMR for this position.
• Two years’ experience working in a long-term care setting preferred.
• Experience with the Residence Assessment Instrument (RAI) process and MDS certification preferred.
• Point Click Care (PCC) experience preferred.
