About the role

McWane Ductile New Jersey is an industry leader in manufacturing water distribution and infrastructure products. Our location history dates to 1865, and today we specialize in casting ductile iron pipes from 3" to 24" in diameter.

Facilities Grounds Persons work both indoors and outdoors in a manufacturing environment with high noise and heat, and they must be prepared for all seasonal weather conditions and temperature extremes.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and remove debris and garbage
• Monitor and maintain plant health
• Trim hedges, shrubs, and small trees
• Inspect grounds for safety hazards and perform necessary repairs
• Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment, including powered sweeping equipment and vehicles
• Assist production department managers and superintendents with housekeeping efforts when directed
• Maintain exterior sidewalks and internal plant safety walks
• Set up, prepare, and clear sites and plant facilities for events and functions
• Perform snow removal and de-icing activities using various snow removal equipment and vehicles
• Provide general maintenance support in mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical trades
• Operate a high-lift scissor lift and materials handling equipment such as a forklift
• Perform other general tasks as assigned by facilities management or supervision
• Observe health, safety, and compliance regulations during all work operations

Requirements

• Ability to safely lift 50 lbs
• Physical fitness and stamina to perform strenuous tasks in varied weather conditions
• General knowledge and hands-on experience with light maintenance capabilities (mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, electrical)
• Ability to operate a high-lift scissor lift and materials handling equipment such as a forklift
• Adaptability to changing needs, shift adjustments, and willingness to learn new tasks
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate and cooperate effectively in a results-oriented manner
• Attention to environmental quality and adherence to production and safety standards
• Commitment to safety guidelines and policies to protect coworkers
• Team-oriented approach to build morale and meet goals

Pay

Between $25.30 and $28.30 per hour
