About the role
3rd Shift Clean Up Crew position with a pay rate between $24.38 and $27.38, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Responsibilities
- Melting Area:
- Clean pig bed and transfer ladle pits and any other areas assigned by supervisor.
- Work with supervisor if ladles need to be repaired before the production run.
- Communicate with supervisor on issues that arise.
- Casting Area:
- Communicate with supervisor on specific production issues related to cleaning certain areas of machines.
- Ensure all machines are clean and ready for production startups (e.g., puller beds, machine beds, ladle areas, walkways).
- Ensure the up-and-over area is clean.
- Place ladles on machines in a timely manner to meet production startup timelines.
- Communicate with supervisor on tools or equipment needed for cleanup tasks.
- Finishing Area:
- Communicate with supervisor on tasks outside of normal cleanup duties from the production run (via email, verbal, or text).
- Follow cleanup check sheets and submit them to the finishing department nightly.
- Report all issues and work orders in a timely manner.
- Plant Maintenance:
- Coordinate with supervisor when maintenance tasks arise, such as crane usage for cleanup.
- Report work orders promptly for areas including Casting, Hotline, Cement line, and Paint line.
- Assist in signing lockout/tagout (LOTO) forms for maintenance employees.
- Safety:
- Complete monthly safety requirements.
- Complete safety paperwork assigned from all departments that cannot be done during production hours.
Requirements
- Verifiable and consistent work experience.
- Ability to interact with all personnel levels in a professional and respectful manner.
- Ability to read policies, procedures, and follow all work directives and safety procedures.
- Self-starter with the ability to read and understand English.
