Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the target development process, including target nomination, analysis, vetting, and prioritization for the WCOPFOR OSC.
- Produce and maintain OSC High Payoff Targets (HPTs), High Value Targets (HVTs), and Target Nomination Lists that align with the WCOPFOR Commander's intent and maneuver objectives.
- Cook up and integrate OSC fires, Division Tactical Group (DTG) indirect fires, close air support, EW, cyber, space, and ISR into the targeting cycle.
- Manage the OSC targeting working group and support cross-functional targeting rehearsals and synchronization meetings.
- Create, validate, and publish targeting guidance, attack guidance matrixes, engagement criteria, and no-strike/positive ID procedures.
- Oversee the dynamic targeting (time-sensitive target) process during execution, adjudicating RFIs and prioritizing immediate engagements.
- Produce targeting products for the common operational picture and commander's decision cycle, including target folders, overlays, and recommended courses of action.
- Liaise with the OCS Chief of Intelligence for intelligence inputs, OSC Chief of Operations for operational effects, and Chief of Integrated Support Command for munitions and logistics.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience as a U.S. Army Targeting former officer, warrant officer, or non-commissioned officer.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Army and Joint regulations and current doctrine.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (up to 5% of the time).
- One or more of the following:
- BS/BA degree with 5 years of military experience or
- High School and 10 years of military experience.
- Active DOD Secret clearance is required.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Advanced degree.
- Military Education Level (MEL) 4
- Experience as a former field grade officer, warrant officer, or sergeant major.
- Successfully served in a key developmental position at brigade/battalion level.
- Experience with Constructive Simulation Models (e.g., Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC), Warfighters Simulation (WARSIM) .
- Experience with FM 7-100 series OPFOR doctrine.
- Experience working with the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP).
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and a customer-focused approach.
Working Conditions
Inside Government training facilities.
Required Travel
Employees will travel to temporary work locations during exercises.
