About the role

The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville, Florida, and provides maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC). As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will plan, organize, and lead day-to-day activities of one or more departmental or functional activities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of mechanics performing automotive mechanic duties, including inspection, maintenance, and repair of light/medium wheeled vehicles.
  • Ensure equipment readiness, maintenance shop organizations, control of maintenance assets, and provide advice on all matters relating to light/medium wheeled vehicle maintenance.
  • Determine sequence and assignment of work based on work priority and quantity of equipment to obtain optimal use of equipment, facilities, and personnel.
  • Keep inventory of repair parts and equipment and requisition replacement stock.
  • Inspect work performed to ensure compliance with specifications and time schedules.
  • Interpret specifications, drawings, work orders, technical instructions, and layouts.
  • Coordinate department activities with other departments.
  • Ensure compliance with administrative policies, procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ensure employees adhere to all safety requirements, procedures, and policies.
  • Supervise and manage the administration of workspace for motor transport equipment repair.
  • Recommend changes to procedures as appropriate.
  • Comply with and ensure compliance with all MCPP ISO-9002 policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for this position.
  • Associate’s degree and/or course work towards a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering or other related discipline is preferred.
  • 8 years of directly related work experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience in a motor transport environment.
  • Must have completed the motor transport maintenance officer course, or equivalent.
  • Ability to review and apply technical specifications and requirements.
  • Ability to analyze equipment and forecast spare part equipment.
  • Ability to analyze maintenance repair or operation to determine methods of improvement.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • USMC MOS 3510 or 3529 or Army MOS 91X or 91Z.
