McHarg Elementary Paraprofessional - Full time

Job Description

The McHarg Elementary Paraprofessional position is a full-time role responsible for supporting classroom instruction and student learning. This individual will assist teachers in managing the classroom environment, providing additional support to students, and ensuring a safe and productive learning space.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in planning and implementing lesson plans
• Support students with academic needs, including one-on-one tutoring and small group instruction
• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure the success of all students

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience working with children in a school setting preferred

Qualifications

• Valid Virginia teaching license or ability to obtain within six months of employment
• Knowledge of educational standards and best practices

Skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
