About the role
To transport MCFS dependent children and/or parents to specified locations for supervised visitation. Incumbent will supervise and document court ordered parental child visits and provide reports to MCFS PAL in a timely manner. Incumbent may also transport clients to appointments with outside service providers and supervise visits on-site at Muckleshoot Child and Family Services.
Responsibilities
- Transport MCFS dependent children to supervised visitation between child and parent.
- Serve as a supervisor during visitation, ensuring the safety of the child and documenting interactions.
- Assist with transporting parents, caregivers, or children to scheduled appointments.
- Operate tribal and/or GSA vehicles, placing children in car seats, and adhering to all state and federal laws regarding transporting children in moving vehicles.
- Keep a daily schedule log and communicate with MCFS staff about availability.
- Be prompt to appointments and allocate travel time appropriately.
- Familiarize oneself with local routes and service providers in King, Pierce, and Thurston counties.
- May perform a variety of office and field duties as needed due to the Tribe's commitment to community service and the well-being of its members.
Requirements
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Must be able to flex schedule and work weekends on occasion.
- Must pass MIT criminal background check and drug screen.
- Completion of Washington State Department of Social and Health Services form for a criminal background check clearance, which may include fingerprinting.
- Completion of a psychiatric evaluation and assessment test.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have six (6) months of experience working with families in a crisis situation.
- Must have two (2) years’ experience working with Native American or diverse populations.
- Must have the ability to work in a high-stress environment and multitask on a daily basis.
- Must have the ability to practice safe driving techniques in all driving conditions and make quick and sound decisions in case of emergencies.
- Must be proficient in using office equipment such as phones, computers, copiers, and faxes.
- Must have CPR, BBP, and First Aid certifications (or obtain within six months of hire).
- Must have knowledge of the culture and traditions of the Muckleshoot Tribe or other Tribes with similar culture and traditions.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines.
- Must be prompt and on time.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
- Current and valid Washington State Driver’s License is required upon hire date.
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate office equipment including phones, computers, copiers, and faxes.
- Knowledge of the culture and traditions of the Muckleshoot Tribe or other Tribes with similar culture and traditions.
