MBSE/CAD Integration Engineer - 27288
About the role
The Model-Based Systems/CAD Integration Engineer plays a critical role in developing the authoritative Systems Modeling Language (SysML) system model and producing supporting 2D/3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) documentation for the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center (JITTC-N) flight simulation environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintains architectural consistency across a complex Information Technology (IT) ecosystem, integrating engineering, networking, cyber, audio/visual (A/V), and simulation components.
- Serves as the custodian of the system’s “single source of truth,” translating high-level requirements into formal models and practical technical drawings for procurement, installation, and maintenance.
- Supports governance and change control through model-based impact assessments for the Configuration Control Board (CCB) process.
- Delivers accurate, stakeholder-ready technical products that enable mission-critical training and testing for U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense (DoD) operations.
Requirements
- System Model Development: Build, manage, and maintain the authoritative SysML model using Cameo Systems Modeler to represent current and future states of flight simulation and IT infrastructure.
- Requirements Management: Translate stakeholder objectives into formal, verifiable system and subsystem requirements within the model.
- Architectural Modeling & Analysis: Model static and dynamic system behaviors; provide formal impact assessments for proposed changes to support CCB governance.
- Technical Drafting & Visualization: Create and maintain 2D/3D technical artifacts—network diagrams, rack elevations, wiring schematics, and facility/component models—using Microsoft Visio and AutoCAD.
- Stakeholder Documentation: Produce tailored architectural views and documentation (e.g., requirements matrices, interface specifications, system diagrams) for program management, engineering teams, and Test & Evaluation (T&E) stakeholders.
Key Skills
- Hands-on proficiency with SysML and Cameo Systems Modeler.
- Strong capability in producing and maintaining detailed 2D/3D technical drawings using Microsoft Visio and AutoCAD.
- Experience generating architectural products and views for diverse engineering and management stakeholders.
- Conceptual understanding of network architecture, server infrastructure, virtualization technologies, and cybersecurity boundaries.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or 3 years relevant experience with a Master’s degree in a related field, or a Ph.D. or Juris Doctor (J.D.) in a related field, or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Hands-on proficiency with SysML and Cameo Systems Modeler; Ability to develop and manage complex system models end-to-end; Strong capability in producing and maintaining detailed 2D/3D technical drawings using Microsoft Visio and AutoCAD; Experience generating architectural products and views for diverse engineering and management stakeholders; Conceptual understanding of network architecture, server infrastructure, virtualization technologies, and cybersecurity boundaries.
