MBA Strategy & Operations Intern - Rolling Application
WovenX Health is building a new model for specialty care, starting in Gastroenterology. We combine virtual care, clinical navigation, and artificial intelligence to help patients access high-quality care faster while supporting health systems and physician practices across the country.
About the role
This is a rolling application targeting MBA candidates in their first or second year at a Chicago-based program. The internship is available in Winter, Spring, Fall, and Summer quarters. Interns commit ~15 hours per week (10-20 hours) during academic quarters, while Summer interns work full-time for 10-12 weeks (June - August). The role is hybrid, with a preference for in-person work at our Merchandise Mart office (The Loop) at least one day per week.
Responsibilities
MBA interns are integrated with our full-time team and work on high-priority Strategy & Operations initiatives aligned with their skillsets. Project scope is determined quarter-to-quarter. Examples of past work include:
- Analyzing virtual care and clinical navigation metrics, including staffing and licensing program design and management analytics.
- Building internal tools to automate schedule management and staffing inputs.
- Supporting WovenX Health’s Customer Success Program by designing and implementing ways to grow health providers’ and health systems’ platform utilization and improve site performance.
- Researching new customer segments and helping launch a new sales strategy, including contact management and pitch/sales enablement materials.
- Managing a clinical outcomes research project and drafting a report with published data on the impact WovenX has in colonoscopy scheduling efficiency and outcomes.
- Guiding the buildout of our national network launch and mapping regulatory and legal requirements for clinical practice across all fifty states + D.C.
- Other projects at the intersection of Clinical, Product, Engineering, and Growth to improve workflows and business performance.
Requirements
- A desire to drive our team and business forward and have a meaningful impact.
- Strong work ethic, an appetite for startup culture, and excitement about transforming healthcare.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities alongside academic responsibilities.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity, asking questions, and collaborating in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent judgment, communication, and relationship-building skills across clinical, operational, and commercial teams.
- A builder's mentality—enjoy creating systems that scale rather than maintaining legacy processes.
- Rigorous attention to detail and a professional presence aligned with healthcare culture.
Qualifications
- Current full-time MBA student at Chicago Booth or Northwestern Kellogg.
- At least 4 years of full-time work experience prior to starting your MBA.
- Previous experience in healthcare, life sciences, or similar strongly preferred.
- Backgrounds in product management (technical or core PM), consulting, operations, analytics, or marketing are welcome.
- Comfort and curiosity using the latest AI tools and platforms.
Benefits
- Opportunity to participate in MedTech or Startup labs (Kellogg) or apply for academic credit via the Polsky Center (Booth) or independent study (Booth/Kellogg).
- Summer interns are eligible for Startup stipends and matching programs at Booth and Kellogg.
- Assistance with academic requirements to share project work and meet program criteria.
