About the Role

Delta’s Commercial Strategy MBA Program is a 12-week summer internship designed to build a strong, versatile, and values-driven leadership pipeline. Interns will tackle a high-impact strategic project in one of Delta’s Commercial departments at the Atlanta, GA headquarters, while collaborating with the Finance MBA Intern program and operational teams to gain enterprise-wide exposure.

Potential Department Placements

  • Pricing & Revenue Management: Optimize Delta’s product pricing across millions of route and date combinations to grow revenue and provide customer choice using analytical insights, industry-leading tools, and cross-commercial engagement.
  • Network (Route) Planning: Maximize system profitability by aligning capacity with demand through disciplined aircraft deployment, including optimization of scheduled flight times, market-level capacity, and high-value new route opportunities.
  • Global Sales & Distribution: Improve the value proposition for Delta’s corporate clients by evaluating incentive programs, designing data-driven sales strategies, and leveraging technology to deliver consistent products across all channels.
  • Customer Engagement & Loyalty: Leverage data-driven insights to monitor performance, identify trends, and refine offerings across the SkyMiles ecosystem, including Medallion elite benefits, Sky Club experiences, and the American Express co-brand partnership.
  • Reservations: Develop recommendations for process improvements in reservations centers, call-handling strategies, and customer segmentation to enhance service quality, increase employee engagement, and drive cost efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Solve high-impact strategic challenges in a Commercial department.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance MBA Interns and operational colleagues.
  • Gain exposure to enterprise-wide decision-making and leadership at Delta.

Requirements

  • Current MBA student.
  • Must complete the first year of an MBA program by Summer 2027.
  • Planned MBA program graduation date by Summer 2028.
  • At least three years (36 months) of post-undergraduate work experience in a dynamic, professional environment or relevant military experience.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Atlanta, GA for the duration of the internship.
  • Curiosity about the airline industry.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, matrix-team environment.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • At least 18 years of age with permanent authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proactive self-starter with a track record of driving impactful business results.
  • Experience building and fostering strong relationships across the organization.
  • Ability to incorporate cross-functional knowledge into project recommendations.

Pay

$9,493 per month, subject to applicable taxes and withholdings.
