About the role

The Building People, LLC, is seeking a detail-oriented, motivated Maximo Junior Configuration Specialist to support the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our IBM Maximo asset management ecosystem. This role is ideal for an early-career professional with a foundational understanding of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and system configuration who is eager to rapidly develop deep expertise in IBM Maximo.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and support IBM Maximo Asset Management (v7.6.x) and/or Maximo Application Suite (MAS 9) applications, modules, user interfaces, workflows, and automation scripts in accordance with business and operational requirements.
  • Utilize Maximo configuration tools, including Application Designer, Database Configuration, Workflow Designer, and Automation Scripting, to implement system enhancements, optimize functionality, and ensure alignment with organizational standards and best practices.
  • Perform unit testing and validation for new configurations, enhancements, and system patches.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Maximo configuration defects.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, configuration records, and user guides.
  • Support bulk data imports, exports, and data cleansing initiatives using the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF) or MX Loader.
  • Aid with basic report development, modifications, and data analysis using Maximo reporting tools (e.g., BIRT, Cognos) and SQL queries.
  • Strictly adhere to established IT governance, change management protocols, and security procedures.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship with ability to obtain a Public Trust.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience working with IBM Maximo, enterprise asset management (EAM) software, or complex ERP systems.
  • Foundational understanding of relational databases and data structures.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, excellent written/verbal communication, and a proactive attitude toward learning.

Skills

  • Understanding of integration concepts, APIs (REST/JSON), or middleware platforms.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or other software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Any official IBM Maximo training, badges, or certifications are a significant plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
