Maverick

Maverick is a 5-year-old, large German Shepherd mix available for adoption in Southampton, NY through the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation in Hampton Bays, NY.

About Maverick

Maverick, a wonderfully handsome Shepherd mix, arrived at the shelter as a stray. Despite hopes that he would be claimed, no one has come forward to pick him up. He is a loving dog who gets along well with other dogs, though a household with another well-socialized dog would be ideal but not required.

The shelter team believes Maverick is overstimulated by the shelter environment and would thrive in a calm home with a human companion who will not over-exercise him. He requires a fenced-in yard and, due to his strength, is best suited for homes with children aged 10 years or older.
