Responsibilities
- Assemble mattresses according to established work instructions using a variety of pneumatic tools, including hog-ring guns, staple guns, c-ring guns, and hot glue guns.
- Operate Hot Melt Bond (HMB) equipment to assemble HMB units and apply specified upholstery layers.
- Assemble open coil and foam-encased pocketed coil mattress units.
- Apply designated upholstery and comfort layers to mattress components.
- Perform foam encasing and final mattress assembly to meet production and quality standards.
- Inspect mattress components and finished products for structural defects, quality issues, and unacceptable flaws.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area while following all safety and production procedures.
- Meet daily production goals while ensuring product quality and consistency.
Qualifications
- Previous experience using pneumatic tools preferred.
- Manufacturing, assembly, or production experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
What You'll Bring
- Physical Demands: Must stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours per day or longer in overtime situations as required. Must be able to lift heavy product or raw materials up to 120 pounds multiple times per hour during an 8-hour shift or longer in overtime situations to meet customer demand. Heavy loads must be team-lifted. Production within the range specified for the position is required to maintain integrity of make-to-order system.
- Mental Demands: Must be able to comprehend and follow work instructions and production tickets. Must be able to understand and follow verbal instructions; communicate with coworkers and management clearly and respectfully; and work in an ever-changing, fast-paced team environment.
- Work Environment: Safety-focused, fast-paced manufacturing plant engaged in Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement. Work environment includes a clean and safe work area and exposure to high noise decibels, hot raw materials, fire-retardant materials, and limited chemicals. Personal Protective Equipment is required to be worn for any hazards and is supplied by the company.
