Location: Jersey City, NJ • Pay Rate: $18.03/hr

About the role

Residential and commercial property owners rely on Janitors to protect the health of tenants, guests, and vendors. Planned Companies Building Services (PBS) is hiring friendly, detail-oriented Janitors and Custodians to provide common-area and bathroom cleaning services, ensuring a clean, healthy, and safe environment for everyone on the property.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors of various types
• Strip, buff, and wax floors as needed
• Dust ceilings, light fittings, countertops, and loose furniture
• Scrub and sanitize bathroom toilets, sinks, and kitchen fixtures
• Empty trash cans and wash and dry windows
• Request cleaning supplies, report breakages, and note needed repairs
• Assist building management with projects and other duties as requested

Requirements

• Willingness to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
• Experience in similar roles using cleaning products and floor/carpet equipment
• Able to work both on a team and independently
• Strong report-writing and clear verbal communication skills
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
