About the role

The Combustion Technician provides electrical, instrumentation, and combustion system support for maintenance, operation, quality assurance, and control of industrial furnaces. This includes troubleshooting, inspections, calibrations, adjustments, temperature and accuracy surveys, and ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective production in a lean manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct furnace temperature uniformity surveys and system accuracy tests.
  • Fabricate and maintain thermocouple test and calibration stands (basic welding skills are a plus).
  • Maintain furnace-related electrical systems, including PLCs, HMI, controls, interlocks, and combustion systems.
  • Maintain accurate test data to support product qualification and industry certification.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Ensure a safe workplace and promote environmental and community well-being.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associate (AS) degree in Electrical, Manufacturing Controls (PLCs), or equivalent education and relevant maintenance experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant electrical and/or instrumentation experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand control logic, flow diagrams, instrument loops, and P&IDs.

Skills

  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs (a plus).
  • Prior burner management system maintenance (a plus).
