Mathematics Half Time Guest Faculty Position for Fall 2024 & Spring 2025

Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY seeks a mathematician for a half-time guest faculty position teaching Calculus II during the fall 2024 and spring 2025 terms.

About the role

The position is a half-time, non-tenure-track guest appointment requiring two full days of presence on campus each term. In addition to teaching the course (maximum 15 students), the faculty member will meet one-on-one with each student every other week to guide an individualized mathematics project aligned with the student’s interests.

Responsibilities

• Teach Calculus II in both fall 2024 and spring 2025 semesters
• Hold biweekly one-on-one meetings with each student to support the conception, design, and execution of a personalized mathematics project

Requirements

• College-level teaching experience
• Authorization to work in the United States (the college cannot sponsor or take over employment Visa sponsorship at this time)
