Math Teacher - Middle School

About the role

We are a vibrant K1-8 public charter school serving 815 students in Lowell, a community rich with families from Central and South America, Central Africa, and Southeast Asia. Responsibilities

• Teach content and skills in your subject area using the LCCPS curriculum to students of all abilities and interests.
• Contribute to curriculum development, instructional materials, assessment tools, and lesson plans tailored to students ranging from beginning English-language learners to advanced proficiency.
• Plan and deliver clear, intentional, and standards-based instruction that meets the needs of diverse learners, including those with IEPs or 504 plans.
• Support all students, including linguistically diverse learners, by recognizing individual needs and implementing strategies to promote achievement.
• Foster independent thinking, creative problem-solving, and abstract reasoning while building strong relationships with students.
• Use multiple student data sources to assess progress, modify instruction, and improve learning outcomes.
• Communicate and collaborate with parents to support student success and achievement.
• Maintain a safe, positive learning environment that promotes effective student behavior.
• Participate in school meetings and initiatives to address student needs and implement school-wide programs.
• Comply with school policies and the Code of Professional Conduct.
• Lead Morning Meeting, Advisory, or Restorative Circles several times a week.
• Plan and deliver an enrichment block several times a week.
• Teach the Leader in Me curriculum once per week.

Requirements

• Valid Massachusetts State certification with appropriate endorsement(s).
• Successful and recent experience as a teacher in the posted subject area (preferred).
• Second language or language acquisition background (preferred).
• Experience working with students from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds (preferred).
