Position Details

St. Anthony Catholic High School, a private, college preparatory High school for young men and women, is seeking a full-time Math Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Position Summary

The English Teacher reports to the School Principal. St. Anthony Catholic High School prepares young men and women for positions of responsibility and leadership through a college preparatory curriculum based on Catholic values and traditions.

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the curriculum.
  • Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
  • Present subject matter according to guidelines established by TEA, board policies and administrative regulations.
  • Work cooperatively with administrators, department chairs, and other staff as needed to meet curriculum objectives.
  • Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
  • Serve as an advisor to students.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and Student handbook.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
  • Aid in the selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials.
  • Establish and maintain open communication through conferences with parents, students, principal and teachers.
  • Compile, maintain and file all physical and computerized reports, records and other documents.
  • Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees.
  • Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
  • Attend after school faculty meetings, evening parent meetings, weekly liturgies, class retreats and open houses as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Proficient knowledge of Math curriculum and Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and use interactive technologies to enhance learning.
  • Strong technology skills.
  • Ability to address learning differences through differentiated instruction.
  • Ability to provide additional tutorials or study sessions with students outside the regular school day.
  • Successful completion of VIRTUS and background check.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics or Education with a minimum of 24 college credit hours in mathematics or related field.

Required Work Experience

At least six (6) months of direct teaching or student teaching experience at the high school level. Note that relevant experience working with high school students will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree.
  • AP certification.
  • Texas Teacher certification in Math.

Required Certifications, Licenses Or Registrations

The Archdiocese of San Antonio requires non-certified teachers to have 12 hours of education. Faculty hired without the 12 hours are placed on a deficiency plan and must obtain the 12 hours within two (2) years.
