About the role
The Chaminade College Preparatory seeks a dynamic, innovative, and engaging Mathematics Teacher for its high school campus in West Hills, California. This is a full-time, in-person position starting August 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teaches five sections, covering courses from Algebra 1 to Calculus.
- Plans lessons, provides feedback, grades assignments, maintains grades and records, and communicates with students, families, and counselors.
- Collaborates with department members and course counterparts to evaluate, monitor, and update curriculum, assessment, and pacing guides.
- Ensures instructional strategies respect students' diverse social identities while aligning with Catholic Marianist values and school mission.
- Uses technology like Blackboard LMS, ALEKS, MathXL, MyMathLab, DeltaMath, Desmos, and AP Classroom to integrate technology into lessons.
- Stays updated on new trends and developments in Mathematics, instructional strategies, and assessment.
- Attends and participates in campus life events, including supervision, lunch activities, liturgies, assemblies, etc.
Qualifications
- A passion for teaching Mathematics at the secondary level.
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred.
- Prior teaching experience, especially in a Catholic educational setting, is preferred.
- Comfortable delivering instruction on campus, remotely, and/or in a hybrid model.
- A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion within the school community.
- A desire to participate in and attend campus life events.
