General Statement of Duties

Essential Duties

  • Instruction & Planning
    • Develop and deliver daily lesson plans aligned with state and district standards.

  • Classroom Management

    • Design formative and summative assessments to measure student learning.

    • Communicate regularly and professionally with students, families, and colleagues.
    • Participate in department meetings, team planning, and school initiatives.

Additional Information

This is a 10-month (209-day) position with a contractual start date of August 17, 2026. Salary will be prorated based on the official start date. This position qualifies for an Opportunity School stipend of $3,500. Candidates selected for interviews will be contacted by the school program and hiring team.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must hold or be eligible for a valid Virginia license with an endorsement in the relevant content area.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, and move throughout the classroom and school building.
