The Summit model emphasizes deep learning, mentorship, and collaboration. You will teach project-based courses, mentor a small group of students, and work closely with colleagues to continuously improve your practice.

Responsibilities

• Project Time: Teach 90-minute blocks in high school or four 55-minute blocks in middle school per day. Facilitate deep learning experiences that develop cognitive skills and apply content knowledge to real-world situations. Coach students, facilitate discussions, and provide feedback.
• Mentor Time: Build deep relationships with a small group of mentees, meeting daily to support their habits of success and personal goals. Advocate for mentees both inside and outside the classroom.
• Self-Directed Learning & Interventions: Facilitate self-directed learning time and daily literacy or math interventions without lesson planning. Monitor progress and support individuals or groups of students.
• Collaboration & Professional Development: Participate in twice-weekly after-school meetings for faculty collaboration, grade-level or subject-level teamwork, and professional development.
• Analyze student progress data to inform lesson plans and provide targeted supports.
• Support school culture and engage in personal development activities between teaching blocks.

Requirements

• Teaching Credential in Washington or another U.S. state.
• Bachelor’s Degree (a Master’s Degree in Education is preferred but not required).
• Clear health and background check.

Teaching experience in your subject is preferred but not required.

Pay

The salary for this position ranges from $67,649 to $106,155, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Schedule

• Student school day: 8:00–8:30 AM to 3:00–3:30 PM, depending on the school.
• Teacher workday: 8:00 AM to no later than 5:00 PM.
• Twice-weekly after-school faculty meetings for collaboration and professional development.
