About the role

Lad Lake Synergy School is an established contracted school through Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) that provides comprehensive services for students on Behavioral Reassignment or expelled through MPS Central Services hearings. Our mission is to guide historically underserved youth toward earning a high school diploma while empowering them with essential life skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create a fun, engaging learning environment that supports all students' learning and well-being.
  • Design and deliver lesson plans tailored to meet the needs of each student, including those with personalized education plans, special needs, or who need extra support.
  • Communicate openly with students, families, fellow staff, and other support teams, demonstrating positive role modeling and teaching life skills.
  • Follow the Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) curriculum, ensuring it is inclusive and culturally sensitive.
  • Protect youth by adhering to privacy practices and maintaining a safe environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 21 years old.
  • A valid Wisconsin teaching certificate.
  • Experience working with students who are historically disadvantaged or have emotional or behavioral challenges (EBD), with 2-3 years of successful classroom management.
  • Proficiency with computers and MS Office.
  • Patient, positive, and confident approach, understanding and trauma-focused care, especially during challenging times.
  • Ability to engage physically and lift up to 30 lbs, and sometimes physically intervene to ensure safety.

  • Knowledge of the Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) curriculum and its inclusivity.
  • Patience and trauma-focused care.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and sometimes physically intervene.

Pay

The base pay is based on experience, education, licensure, and Lad Lake years of service. Compensation details: $46,795 - $64,940 yearly salary.
