Responsibilities
- Teach mathematics to students in grades 7 and 8
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Incorporate technology and innovative teaching methods into the classroom
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching practices and student outcomes
- Participate in professional development activities
Requirements
- Middle School Mathematics Certification (029) or 229 Mathematics, Middle School Gr. 4 - 8
- Must possess and maintain the certification requirements as established by Connecticut State Statutes
Qualifications
- Strong background in mathematics education
- Experience working with students in grades 7 and 8
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students
Skills
- Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs
- Strong organizational and time management skills

Pay
Salary contingent on degree and years of experience: 26-27 School Year: $53,220 - $108,047
Schedule
Hours and schedule are determined by the New Haven Public Schools based on the needs of the district and the individual teacher's qualifications and experience.
