Essential Duties
- Coordinate math services offered by the Center for Academic Support;
- hire, train, supervise, and evaluate math tutors;
- provide individual and group tutoring in math as needed.
Assist the Director and other coordinators
- with the operation and administration of the Center;
- including, but not limited to, covering the front desk, approving student employee timesheets, and advertising the services offered in the Center.
Serve as liaison
- between the Center and the Math department;
- collaborate with faculty and staff to coordinate and implement new services to meet the academic needs of students.
Manage the Center’s online scheduling system
- Manage TracCloud, communicating as necessary with the I.T. department and TracCloud’s parent company, Redrock Software.
- Manage TracCloud user access across campus departments, provide training for staff and students, and oversee tutor and student schedules within the system.
Maintain CAS database and website
- Maintain CAS database and website,
- assist with data collection for special populations or university programs,
- distribute center usage reports to academic departments.
Plan and lead educational workshops
- Develop workshops for a variety of student groups;
- prepare and make presentations for Registration Days, Griffon Edge and other on-campus organizations.
Teach one (three credit hour) general studies mathematics course
- in Fall and Spring semesters based on department need.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of teaching and tutoring skills;
- Good supervisory and management skills;
- Proficient in computer software and programs, and the ability to maintain the Center’s website;
- Organized thinker with exceptional attention to detail;
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing;
- Able to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Required Qualifications
- This position requires a Master’s Degree in Math or Math Education;
- Must have one to three years of experience in teaching and/or tutoring;
- Must have a minimum of 18 hours of graduate work in mathematics.
Preferred Qualifications
- College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) experience;
- College level tutoring and/or teaching experience.
