Math Co-Teacher (6-12) - Specialized Academic Center - 2026-27 School Year
About the role
The Specialized Academic Center (SAC) at Trailhead is seeking a dedicated secondary educator to join our highly supportive, clinical-instructional team. Support is built into the infrastructure of your classroom with a low teacher-to-pupil ratio and a dedicated behavioral team on-site.
Responsibilities
- Teach and inspire students with complex behavioral and communication needs in grades 6-12.
- Provide individualized, high-quality instruction in a small group setting.
- Navigate complex classroom dynamics with support from a Behavior Specialist and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Collaborate within the Trailhead Learning Community, a space designed for innovation, empathy, and professional growth.
Requirements
A current Virginia teaching license with a secondary endorsement in Math 6-12 and additional content area certification is required. Experience working with students who have behavioral and communication disabilities is preferred.
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively, and a passion for making a difference in students' lives are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a commitment to continuous learning are also important.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
