About the role

The Maternal Mental Health Therapist plays a crucial role in the Foresight team, focusing on improving access to high-quality mental health care for expectant and new mothers. This position involves providing individual and group therapy, participating in interdisciplinary rounds, and collaborating with various departments to ensure comprehensive care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group therapy to individuals who are trying to conceive or in the perinatal period using evidence-based approaches.
  • Maintain a clinical caseload between 25-35 clients depending on program needs and administrative time.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation.
  • Support screening, intake, and assessment to ensure appropriate fit and timely access to care.
  • Collaborate with psychiatry and other disciplines to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care.
  • Provide crisis management and stabilization as needed.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary MMH program rounds, contributing to case discussions, treatment planning, and program development.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and address trends, barriers, and opportunities for program growth.
  • Develop and deliver internal education on perinatal and reproductive mental health.
  • Create and present client-facing education, workshops, or support groups for community engagement.
  • Serve as an advocate for maternal mental health within and outside the organization.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
  • Postpartum Support International PMH-C certification strongly preferred. Candidates without PMH-C certification should demonstrate significant focused experience providing mental health care to patients during pregnancy and the postpartum period.
  • Minimum of two years post-license experience in behavioral health, IOP or PHP experience.
  • Current California licensure as LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or Licensed Psychologist.
  • Strong communication skills, including proactive and responsive communication with clients and internal teams.
  • Proficiency with essential technology platforms, such as EHR systems, Zoom, Google Suite, and Dayforce.

Pay

$80,000 - $90,000 base annual salary based on qualifications including experience, education, and certifications.
