Position Overview

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at VCU Health - Richmond, VA seeks a Division Chief for the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine. The division has six Maternal Fetal Medicine subspecialists and a new ACGME approved fellowship program starting in 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching | Participate in departmental educational activities, focusing on students, residents, and fellows in maternal fetal medicine.
  • Research | Lead the division’s research program, initiate projects, and collaborate with other division members to contribute to scholarly publications and presentations.
  • Service | Serve on departmental, hospital, and university committees as needed, and engage in professional activities in the field.
  • Clinical | Manage the clinical practice, oversee high-risk obstetric services, including ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis, and fetal therapy.
  • Other | Lead the division, promote growth in clinical volume, implement state-of-the-art clinical programs, and foster communication and relationships within the department, VCU Health, and the community.

Qualifications

  • Completion of ACGME or ABOG accredited fellowship training in Maternal Fetal Medicine or its equivalent.
  • Absolutely required to obtain an unrestricted medical license in Virginia.
  • Effective supervisory, leadership, and management skills.
  • Potential for scholarship or creative expression to complement and expand existing expertise in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified by the American Board of OB/GYN in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
