About the role

The Materials Testing Technician I will perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials. They will communicate with various stakeholders including the project manager, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractors' representatives regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results.

Responsibilities

  • Transport material samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
  • Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in the form of written and digital reports.
  • Communicate findings and results to the Project Manager.
  • Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
  • Assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites.
  • May assist on tasks and perform basic testing and observations duties under close supervision.
  • Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
  • Submits documentation and communicates results as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Will be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments.
  • Maintain assigned equipment.
  • Drive a vehicle such as a Ford F-150 or equivalent.
  • Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months experience required
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
  • Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire
  • Successful completion of related internal safety certifications

Qualifications

  • Preferred Certification: Obtain Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire.

Pay

Maximum Salary: $22.25/hour
Minimum Salary: $18.50/hour
