Materials Supervisor VAA (Night Shift)

The Material Supervisor manages material plans at our facilities, ensuring optimal raw material levels to maintain smooth production while achieving inventory targets. This role involves significant time on the production floor and supports new launches, critical programs, and special projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage material plans to support orderly launches, build plans for new programs, critical end-of-life items, and special projects.
• Optimize inventory consumption and minimize excess/obsolescence for new and end-of-life products.
• Identify, assess, and communicate program issues or exceptions, proposing solutions as needed.
• Review, audit, and analyze Bills of Materials (BOMs), providing feedback on critical path materials and proactively addressing potential crises.
• Ensure accurate cycle counts and material follow-up in QAD and the customer’s system.
• Analyze engineering changes and address material impacts to support product launches.
• Participate in team meetings, documenting build plans and actions.
• Coordinate production build requirements to meet customer demand and inventory targets.
• Maintain and improve processes to support Engineering program requirements and reduce time to market.
• Provide leadership and backup support in Material departments as needed.
• Transport material to customers using a company box truck.
• Liaise with rejected material at customer sites and address issues upon return.
• Assist Production as necessary and follow safe practices.
• Perform all other assigned duties.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Business, Materials Management, or Supply Chain Management/Logistics, with demonstrated success.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Business Administration) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency with ERP and Kanban systems.
• Ability to plan and analyze production requirements and implement supporting material systems.
• Working knowledge of material flows and layouts.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail to establish priorities and set goals.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and perform self-initiated activities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for collaboration with internal and external teams.
• Broad knowledge of mobile equipment operation and ability to train others.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 and other customer-specific requirements.
• Customer-focused with tact and a sense of urgency.
• Ability to reconcile accounts and solve problems creatively.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for prolonged periods, climb into a box truck, and operate a forklift.
• Willingness to work overtime with short notice.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data management and analysis.
