Job Responsibilities
- Report and give solution to unsafe conditions to your supervisor in a timely manner
- Ensure that all safety and quality procedures are being followed
- Actively participate in Materials Department daily activities (5S, safety programs, training courses, startup, and other meetings as requested)
- Ensure 5S is maintained in all work areas including shipping/receiving docks, warehouse, dumpsters, and designated areas outside of the building.
- Communicate with support teams and escalate when necessary to provide a safe and efficient working area
- Communicate with supervisors, management and other support departments for any downtime, material shortages and any materials related issues
- Ensure material handlers follow standard work in respective zones and material handler routes including shipping and receiving areas.
- Ensure quality product delivered by team members to internal & external customer
- Lead training of new team members, and support ongoing training for team members
- Maintain inventory levels (min/max) of Finished Goods, Work in Process, Raw Materials and containers, report excess inventory and shortages to materials and production
- Maintain cycle counts according to calendar assigned by supervisor, report discrepancies and guarantee the inv accuracy in the plant analyzing discrepancies.
- Maintain designated area layouts and First-In-First-Out (FIFO) material flow following PFEP.
- Maintain equipment necessary to perform job duties and report any equipment issues to Supervisor or Manager
- Maintain containers in good conditions and follow up to maintenance in the Load or unload trailers as assigned by Supervisor
- Pull or stage orders as assigned by Supervisor
- Must use barcode scanners and ERP system for inventory transfers, label printing, or production reporting
- Maintain and verify all required documents and records in Control Document System.
- Support any area that may need assistance, per Supervisor direction.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Prior experience leading and training others in a production environment
- Able and willing to stand, sit, or walk throughout shift
- Able and willing to drive a fork truck for most of the shift
- Basic mathematical skills
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- On-site attendance is essential function of this position
- Must be able to understand written instructions
Education And Experience
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred
- Supervisor experience at least 2 years
- Material Handling experience at least 3 years
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to perform and understand shop math
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Work Environment Includes office and manufacturing plant
- Must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees of all departments, management, customers and suppliers
- Provide support for three shifts and weekend production schedule
- Flexible hours and able to work additional hours as required
