About the role
The Materials Supervisor will be focusing on production planning, inventory control, and work order creation, while also providing day-to-day oversight of the on-site logistics team to ensure the smooth flow of materials and services throughout the facility.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor team members to ensure effective execution of planning activities.
- Oversee inventory management processes to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing costs.
- Create and maintain master schedules that align production capabilities with customer demand.
- Analyze capacity requirements to ensure resources are utilized efficiently and effectively.
- Schedule production activities on the shop floor to optimize workflow and meet delivery deadlines.
- Create and issue work orders to translate production schedules into actionable tasks for the shop floor.
- Oversee day-to-day on-site logistics operations, assigning work and ensuring shipping, receiving, and material movement run smoothly.
- Develop and execute strategies based on lean methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Oversee the coordination of material flow and services throughout the facility to ensure timely delivery.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement in material management.
- Prepare and present regular reports on inventory levels, production schedules, and other relevant metrics to senior management.
- Cook up and supervise annual physical inventory and periodic cycle counting to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Maintain Item master accuracy and ensure PFEP (plan for every part) to meet business requirements.

- Work closely with other departments, including procurement, production, and sales, to align goals and ensure smooth operations.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team members to identify and implement process enhancements.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and effectiveness in material management.
Requirements
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and production planning software.
- SAP experience.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
- Able to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members, suppliers, and cross-functional departments.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to multitask to accommodate business needs.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in material scheduling.
Additional Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other relevant software tools.
- Certifications in supply chain management, such as APICS CPIM or CSCP, are a plus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in materials management, production planning, or supply chain roles.
- 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing facility.
