Responsibilities

• Lead 1-2 small or similar areas within the materials team in the assigned facility, taking ownership of safety, productivity, efficiency, and accuracy of transactions and inventory.
• Lead production team members in a union and/or non-union environment on the materials process and provide daily support in troubleshooting issues that arise.
• Provide performance feedback and appraisals to team members to guide their development.
• Educate and enforce quality, safety and 5S standards and processes, and recommend changes as opportunities arise.
• Aid in the development and management of the flow of materials internally, between plants, and offsite warehousing.
• Review and update departmental procedures to ensure ISO compliance.
• Train employees on materials processes, including but not limited to inventory issues, credits, rejects, receipts, and transfers.
• Work cross-functionally with Purchasing, Operations, Finance, Safety, and Quality to optimize processes and performance across disciplines.
• Review daily shortages due to inventory errors, determine causes and corrective actions.
• Develop use of technology in systems and processes.
