Materials Project Manager
Actalent is seeking a dedicated Materials Project Manager to join a multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm in its Springfield office. This role supports an active portfolio of geotechnical, construction materials testing, environmental, and engineering-related projects.
About the role
You will work directly alongside the Department Manager to manage project execution from kickoff through completion, ensuring quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Oversee project scope, scheduling, budgets, forecasting, invoicing, quality, safety, client communication, and resource coordination.
- Independently manage multiple projects while serving as a technical and operational leader for project staff and field personnel.
- Assume ownership of projects, maintain strong client relationships, and ensure quality deliverables.
- Support the continued growth of the department.
Skills
- Proficiency in project management, construction materials testing, environmental remediation, and geotechnical engineering.
- Experience in building schedules, forecasts, and managing project budgets and profitability.
- Ability to review scope changes and coordinate resources across departments.
- Technical knowledge in reading plans and specifications, understanding engineering reports and recommendations.
- Strong communication and project financial management experience.
- Experience leading teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related technical field, OR 9+ years of related industry experience in lieu of a degree.
- Valid driver's license.
- PMP certification and professional engineer qualification are beneficial.
Work Environment
This fully onsite position is based in Springfield, MO. The role involves collaboration with various departments and field teams in a dynamic work environment.
Pay
The pay range for this Contract to Hire position is $64.75 - $83.25 per hour. Individual compensation will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, and internal equity.
