The What To Expect Tesla is seeking a NPI Materials Program Manager to support the planning, warehousing, and delivering of materials for new program launches. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Support programs from prototype phase through start of production until transition to production sustaining team.
  2. Own the transition plan for program parts to be handed over to on-going production.
  3. Work with external suppliers to establish delivery schedules, coordinating with Supply Chain and Logistics as needed.
  4. Lead communication on the program to all key stakeholders: program management, NPI, engineering, and supply chain.
  5. Identify and drive improvement projects/processes to ensure BOM accuracy and maintain accurate MRP data.
  6. Support material changes resulting from Change Actions (CAs), plan for new materials, and minimize obsolescence of old materials.
  7. Collaborate with Supply Chain and Engineering to ensure ongoing inventory levels and accuracy.

Qualifications include:

  • A degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of related experience in materials management, production planning, material scheduling, or purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, including ability to maintain and enhance Excel-based material shortage reports.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including ability to optimize delivery costs and inventory levels.
  • Knowledge of PLM software, SAP enterprise system inventory management system, and MES.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on demand.
  • Effective presentation skills for material status in weekly program/executive meetings.
  • An open-minded, collaborative, and team-oriented attitude.
  • Self-motivation and resourcefulness.
