Position Summary
We are seeking a Materials Planning & Procurement Specialist to support manufacturing operations by coordinating purchasing, production planning, and inventory activities. This position plays an important role in ensuring materials are available to meet production schedules while maintaining accurate planning data and efficient material flow throughout the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing purchasing, production planning, and ERP/MRP systems and enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing and production planning for assigned manufacturing programs or product lines
- Purchase raw materials, electrical components, and other production-related items required to support manufacturing operations
- Cook up material availability from procurement through receiving, inventory, production, and shipment
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems to create, monitor, and update purchasing and planning activities
- Work closely with production, inventory, and operations teams to ensure materials are available when needed
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and help maintain accurate planning and purchasing data
- Support production schedules by identifying potential material shortages and helping resolve supply issues
- Maintain accurate records and planning information within the ERP system
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Buyer, Planner, or Buyer/Planner role
- Manufacturing or production environment experience
- Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or comparable software
- Experience with production planning, purchasing, inventory management, and material flow processes
- Background sourcing and purchasing electrical components and manufacturing materials
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- APICS certification or other supply chain credentials
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field
