Materials, Planning & Logistics Manager

Responsibilities

• Leads the location logistics, materials, purchasing and production planning initiatives
• Assures adherence of safety specifications and processes in the logistics areas that use powered industrial trucks and manual material handling equipment
• Oversight of Logistics/TMS support- handles carrier related concerns
• Leads and supports of material handling improvements
• Uses Lean manufacturing methodologies in the value stream to drive continuous improvement
• Works with Sales, Inventory, Operations, Planning led to drive inventory reduction projects
• Ensures level loading of the production planning processes for inventory optimization
• Supports development and maintenance of PFEP, replenishment, and flow of material strategies into standardized processes
• Measures and owns Logistic Key Performance Indicators such as inventory turns, material variance, on-time fill rate
• Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of workers
• Interviews, hires, trains and develops new employees
• Partners with Manufacturing to ensure coordination of other functions such as production planning, raw and finished goods inventory management and effective change overs
• Leads the communication collaboratively within the site support functions and sales team
• Conducts annual performance reviews and provides continual feedback on both positive and constructive performance
• Ensures teams have processes in place to control non-conformance materials to initiate corrective actions, ensure that the commodities are inspected for conformity with
