Materials Planner & Buyer - Memphis, TN

Location: Memphis, TN | Type: Direct Hire | Salary: Up to $90,000 per year plus outstanding benefits

About the role

Growing manufacturing company is looking for a Materials Planner/Buyer for their Memphis facility. They need an organized, detail-oriented, goal-driven person to handle scheduling, inventory control, and shipments.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with management to develop methods for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency
• Drive procurement strategies within established pricing frameworks
• Secure competitive pricing, lead times, and minimum order quantities (MOQs)
• Negotiate routine commercial terms with approved vendors
• Manage inventory and forecasting needs and usage
• Ensure all materials for effective and efficient manufacturing and on-time shipment are balanced with corporate objectives
• Work with an ERP/MRP system

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
• IMPORT experience
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a planning and purchasing role
• Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office
