About the role

Luminator Technology Group is seeking a Materials Planner to join our team at our Plano, Texas headquarters. This role is onsite Monday-Friday and open to local candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material changes, backlogs, or other interruptions in collaboration with management, marketing, sales, production, or engineering.
  • Analyze sales data to determine which products will be in demand in the future, based on factors such as future projects, product changes, and trends in consumer behavior.
  • Arrange for delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials while adhering to production deadlines.
  • Develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function.
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Coincide cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
  • Interact with sales, marketing, and customer finance to understand demand forecast drivers.
  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing and Customer Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
  • Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods; Administration and Management; Customer and Personal Service; Administrative.
  • Skills: Complex Problem Solving; Critical Thinking; Judgment and Decision Making; Reading Comprehension; Written Comprehension; Information Ordering; Near Vision; Oral Comprehension; Problem Sensitivity.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in planning or supply chain management. Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning experience; Computer Skills: Technical and business knowledge to include financial modeling and analysis using Microsoft Excel; Proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications is also required, including but not limited to Word and PowerPoint. Prior experience with ERP environments and planning in database tools required. Syteline ERP experience highly preferred.
