Materials Planner
Job Summary
Reporting directly to the MP&L Manager, the Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of raw materials to meet production demands and support new product launches. Key responsibilities include building strong relationships with suppliers, managing inventory levels, communicating delivery statuses, and contributing to key performance indicators.
Responsibilities
- Build strong, trusting relationships with suppliers through effective communication and excellent customer service.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate material schedules and inventory positions.
- Communicate raw materials shortages, update supply plans, and execute on follow-up actions.
- Contribute to key performance indicators of suppliers such as past due, on-time delivery, schedule attainment, inventory levels, and reduction of premium freight and overtime costs.
- Maintain inventory levels against target levels and reconcile supplier non-conformances, returns, and re-plan material needs.
- Manage long-term planning for strategic suppliers and participate in supplier capacity reviews.
- Minimize obsolescence and streamline internal processes using lean tools and standardization.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Three or more years of experience in project coordination.
- Experience in coordinating teams and clients.
- Proven success in a corporate setting, working with all levels of management.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Qualifications
- Academic/Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
