About the role

SSW Advanced Technologies, LLC is a growing multinational supplier to the global appliance OEMs. With more than 70 years of expertise and innovation, we design and sell components and systems to the residential appliance industry (refrigeration, cooking, laundry), commercial refrigeration, HVAC, retail display, and home/office organizational markets.

Responsibilities

  • Interact in a professional manner with other employees and customers.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by monitoring safety procedures and equipment.
  • Ensure inventory value objectives are met.
  • Assess and plan all shop floor requirements through interpretation of the MRP report.
  • Perform discrete shop floor planning and work order selection; forward selected work orders to the production department for final release.
  • Check specifications of materials loaded or unloaded against information contained in work orders.
  • Complete weekly inventory accuracy reports and initiate corrective action to meet or exceed accuracy objectives.
  • Work with Sales/Product Manager on materials for new product start-ups to ensure product planning meets customer expectations.
  • Conduct weekly reviews of the work order open list report to assess open orders in WIP and resolve issues with the Operations Manager.
  • Review work throughout the process and at completion to ensure proper performance.
  • Maintain and review master schedule items and data.
  • Complete weekly customer shipping schedules.
  • Manage all MRO purchased items.
  • Execute shop floor requests and material expedition.
  • Research potential vendors for new materials and initiate required assessments.
  • Collaborate with all departments to ensure data accuracy and currency.
  • Complete required adjustments based on cycle count results.
  • Track inventory accuracy and requisition or purchase additional supplies as necessary.
  • Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staffing for effective performance and response to fluctuating workloads.
  • Estimate material, time, and staffing requirements for projects based on work orders, job specifications, and experience.

Supervision

Reports to the Material Director, TN Operations. Supervises purchasing coordinator, production and shipping scheduler, customer service, cycle counting, shipping, and receiving.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; college degree in general business or related fields preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with working knowledge of MRP concepts.
  • Knowledge of company procedures.
  • Able to travel to other divisions when required.
  • Detailed and hands-on oriented.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday onsite.

Working Conditions

  • Office and manufacturing plant environment.
  • Physical ability may include standing, lifting, carrying, and reaching.
  • Frequently indoors; occasionally exposed to high/cold temperatures, loud noises, and fumes.
